Aerospace Actuator Manufacturing

At Beaver Aerospace & Defense, Inc., we go beyond standard. We know that it isn't good enough to produce many exceptional products. They must all be exceptional. Whether it's a short run of limited application ball screws, or a large run of actuators for mass use, each unit must perform flawlessly and repeatedly.

Program Management

Program Management practices are evident through the entire life cycle of the project. Standard industry practices, patterned after the Program Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK), are utilized from the onset of the project. Actual Cost and Fixed Price programs are managed utilizing Microsoft Project and/or Primavera Scheduling Software.


A project manager is assigned at the beginning of each project to provide a single point of contact for all project related questions. The project manager will conduct a kick-off meeting with all internal and external shareholders to insure that all objectives are clearly defined, prior to any work being accomplished.
 

Once the objectives are clearly defined and the Statement of Work (SOW) is developed and agreed upon, a work breakdown structure (WBS) is developed to itemize the work to successfully complete the project. The WBS is then utilized to develop the Program Master Schedule (PMS) in the scheduling software. A Baseline Schedule is then presented to all shareholders for agreement.

At this point, work begins on the program in-line with the PMS which directs the Cost Account Managers (CAMS) as to their requirements for time and budget. During the control and execution stage of the program, status meetings are held amongst the program team to insure quality, budget, and schedule are all maintained.

 

In addition, risks are identified and mitigated through these meetings. The project continues in this manner until all objectives are met.

 

A closing meeting is held to ensure that all objectives have been satisfied and any lessons learned can be shared for usage in future endeavors.
