Beaver Aerospace & Defense to supply flap actuation system for PiperJet Altaire; exhibit at Paris Air Show

Livonia, Michigan – Beaver Aerospace & Defense, Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacturing of unique and broad-range actuation technologies, will supply the flap actuation system for the PiperJet Altaire single-engine business jet. According to the contract, Beaver is responsible for the design, engineering, certification and production of the electromechanical flap actuation system.

The PiperJet Altaire has gained significant appeal in the very light jet (VLJ) marketplace for its speed, range and payload, which outperforms twin-engine jets in its category. The aircraft also includes additional cabin height and width that rivals, and in many cases surpasses, the interiors of the largest twin-engine VLJs.

“Beaver is excited to work with the visionaries at Piper Aircraft,” said Lee Pichan, Sales Director at Beaver Aerospace & Defense. “This is the second Beaver actuation system to be included on the PiperJet Altaire.”

In 2010, Beaver Aerospace & Defense was selected by Mecaer Aviation Group (MAG) to provide its groundbreaking electromechanical landing gear actuator for the PiperJet Altaire.

Beaver Aerospace & Defense will be exhibiting at the 49th International Paris Air Show at the Le Bourget Airport in Paris, France, from June 20-26, 2011 in Hall 3 stand B158.
